Lawn:
Be among the first to have the greenest yard in the neighborhood. And we’re not just talking about the color! Midwest Landscape, Inc. is proud to be utilizing One-Ap, a Spread It & Forget It Certified fertilizer in our lawn fertilization program. Powered by Agrium Advanced Technology’s DURATION CR fertilizer blend, One-Ap allows us to apply up to 40% less nitrogen to your lawn without any loss of turf vigor or color. The benefits of reduced fertilizer applications and less nitrogen are numerous:
- Less fertilizer means less valuable nutrients lost to the environment through run-off and leaching.
- One application of fertilizer lessens the chance your loved ones and pets will come in contact with potentially harmful chemicals.
- Smaller carbon footprint: Fewer applications of fertilizer utilize less fuel leading to less harmful emissions.
- One-Ap is a certified Eco-Choice Plant Nutrient.
As always, your lawn fertilization program includes a pre-emergent herbicide to help keep crabgrass and broadleaf weeds at bay. Two blanket applications of herbicide are also included to assist in controlling broadleaf weeds. Spot treatments of herbicide occur periodically during the summer months to keep the lawn green, healthy and weed free.
Tree & Shrub
Your trees and shrubs represent a significant investment in your home landscape. You need to protect that investment. Our 5-step tree and shrub care program will assist in protecting your trees and shrubs from harmful insect and disease formation that affects their appearance and overall plant health.
Round One (March/April): Dormant oil is applied to assist in controlling overwintering insects and scale.
Round Two (April/May): A combination insecticide / fungicide is applied to assist in controlling damaging insects and cool weather fungus.
Round Three (May/June): A combination insecticide / fungicide is applied to assist in controlling damaging insects and cool weather fungus.
Round Four (June/July): A combination insecticide / fungicide is applied to assist in controlling damaging insects and cool weather fungus.
Round Five (November): A winter desiccant is applied to evergreen trees and shrubs to protect them from dry winter winds.
We also offer additional services to help keep your trees and shrubs looking beautiful:
Deep Root Fertilization: Our state certified technicians will inject high quality nutrients directly into the root zone to improve overall plant health. Injection sites are spaced approximately 2 – 3 feet apart in a grid-like pattern under the tree canopy. In addition to improving soil fertility around the tree, deep root injections improve microbial activity and allow much needed oxygen to penetrate the root zone. Call today to schedule your feeding.
Trunk Injections: A supplemental service to help protect established, mature trees that are nearly impossible to replace. Injections of insect and disease control, as well as micronutrients, are placed every 3 - 4 inches around the entire trunk of the tree, which allows the trees vascular system to quickly uptake the nutrients and transport them throughout the branches and tree canopy.
